  • Brigitte Bartels-Hafner

    TEACHER - OCT

    Brigitte holds an M.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. She teaches English, German, Mathematics, Ethics and German as a Second Language. Brigitte has been working at the GIST since 2002. You can reach her at: brigitte.bartelshafner@gistonline.ca.

    TEACHER

    Sarah studied at the University of Education in Freiburg. She teaches English, German, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as well as History, Social Studies and Geography.   • Vanessa Gelhaar

    ADMINISTRATION & MARKETING ASSISTANT

    Vanessa studied Environmental Management at the Brandenburg Technical University in Cottbus. She moved from Berlin to Toronto in February 2017 to immerse herself in a new international metropolis. You can reach her at: vanessa.gelhaar@gistonline.ca.

    KINDERGARTEN TEACHER - RECE

  • Adrienne Hubbard

    TEACHER - OCT

    Adrienne studied at Trent University (B.A.) and at Lakehead University (B.Ed.). She teaches English, Music, English as a second language and she is our expert for Special Education.   • Sabrina Hülsmann

    HEAD OF KINDERGARTEN

    Sabrina studied at the Franz-von-Assisi Schule in Osnabrück. She enjoys spending time outside in beautiful High Park and taking pictures of all its animal residents, stargazing through her telescope and spending time with her family. You can reach her at: sabrina.hulsmann@gistonline.ca.

  • Christina Kalamba

    TEACHER

    Christina studied at Pädagogische Hochschule Chemnitz in Germany. She teaches Visual Arts and Ethics. Christina is very interested in science, news, nature walks and sports. You can reach her at: christina.kalamba@gistonline.ca.

  • Sarah Miles

    VICE PRINCIPAL

    Sarah Miles joined GIST in October 2017. Sarah is from Nova Scotia, where she worked as a Vice Principal for the past 6 years. She has earned degrees from both Mount Allison and Acadia University. She loves swimming and camping with her family. You can reach her at sarah.miles(at)gistonline.ca

  • Anika Noto-Eger

    HEAD OF AFTERCARE / TEACHER

    Anika studied German, French and English at the University of Geneva. In 2012, she moved from Germany to Switzerland where she has been teaching German and English as a second language. Her passions are languages of any kind as well as travelling to as many foreign countries as possible.

  • Kathrin Sander

    PRINCIPAL / SCHULLEITERIN

    Kathrin took over the position of GIST Principal on August 1, 2017. For the past nine years, Kathrin held the position of Principal at a primary school in her hometown of Hamburg. Kathrin studied at Flensburg University. She loves snowboarding with her husband in the French Alps.

  • Claudia Scarlett

    TEACHER

    Claudia studies at the University Lüneburg in Germany. She teaches German, Mathematics in Grades 1-4. Claudia enjoys reading books, dancing, being outside and exploring the nature and spending time with her children. You can reach her at: claudia.scarlett@gistonline.ca.

  • Antonia Takacs

    BUSINESS MANAGER / VERWALTUNGSLEITERIN

    Antonia studied Business Administration, Culture, Leisure and Sports Management at the Heilbronn University in Germany.
