  • Jasmine Bush

    IB Coordinator

    Jasmine studied literature & languages, and is an OCT certified teacher. She has been teaching middle & high school for 20 years, and is passionate about the neuroscience of education. She enjoys spending time with her family.

  • Maren Bödeker

    Homeroom Teacher

    Maren holds a M.A.Ed (Gymn/Ges) in Art & German and brings over 20 years of experience to GIST teaching at all levels at a high school. Besides teaching, she follows another passion, working as an artist in residence in her studio.

  • Sierra Cumming

    Music and English Teacher

    Sierra graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Humber College and has been a music educator since 2011 teaching all levels and ages. When Sierra is not at GIST, she likes to watch documentaries, and going to live music.

  • Matthew Denton

    Business Manager

    Matt joined GIST in 2023 to cover for Ms. Tamme while on leave. He holds a B.Comm from Queen's. Matt held a Business Manager at a school for the past 8 years, and prior to that worked in the Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income markets. In his spare time, Matt plays and coaches Ultimate Frisbee.

  • Nafi Gaye

    Kindergarten Teacher

    Nafi is a state certified teacher and finished her studies in Frankfurt, Germany. She is also qualified to identify and support highly gifted children (Begabtenpädagogin). In her free time she enjoys playing the guitar, nature and immersing herself in poetry.

  • Laura Grätz

    Admissions & Marketing Coordinator

    Laura joined the GIST in 2020 and supports us in the areas of admissions and marketing. She holds a BA degree in Business Administration and gained international experience during her studies in the Netherlands and Colombia. Laura enjoys being in nature and exploring new places.

  • Larissa Hartman

    Teacher

    Larissa holds a bachelor's degree in art therapy and a master's degree in education. She has been working for 8 years in various educational settings, including high schools, colleges, and private education for young adults with autism.

  • Rouven Hollmann

    Principal

    Rouven became principal at GIST in 2023, having previously spent eight years as deputy principal at a German school in Japan. Most recently, he taught science and mathematics at a large high school near Düsseldorf with over 1200 students. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

  • Sabrina Hülsmann

    Head of Kindergarten

    Sabrina studied at the Franz-von-Assisi Schule in Osnabrück and has been working for GIST since 2016. She enjoys spending time in nature, stargazing through her telescope, and spending time with her family and her Chinchilla.

  • Farwa Mahmood

    Homeroom Teacher

    Farwa studied German and English (B.Ed) at the Johannes-Gutenberg Universität in Mainz. In her free time, she enjoys reading, discovering new places, taking pictures, and spending quality time with family and friends.

  • Annalena Reinert

    Homeroom Teacher

    Annalena studied Secondary Education and was working as the Head of Aftercare before she became Homeroom Teacher. When she is not at school, Annalena enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and traveling.

  • Claudia Scarlett

    Homeroom Teacher

    Claudia has joined us in 2016 and holds the position of Homeroom Teacher Grade 1/2. She teaches German, Maths and Science in the primary grades. She studied at the University of Lüneburg and enjoys reading, dancing & exploring nature with her children.

  • Miriam Schulte-Zweckel

    German Coordinator

    Miriam took over the position of German Coordinator at the GIST in 2021. She has been teaching German as a second language (DaZ) & as a foreign language (DaF) at elementary schools throughout her career.

  • Sarah Seibel-Proulx

    Kindergarten Teacher - RECE

    Sarah is an OCT certified teacher, a RECE and a member of the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance. She studied natural science and education at Lakehead University. Sarah continued her studies and earned her Honors in Education as a Specialist in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.

  • Stephan Stoffelen

    Head of Science

    Stephan has been successfully teaching science for more than 20 years to students ranging from middle school to college level. In his spare time, he is very passionate about art and music and loves to experiment in his kitchen.

  • Wiebke Tamme

    Business Manager (parental leave)

    Wiebke has been working for GIST since 2018 and holds a M.Sc. degree in Finance & Controlling from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Prior to GIST, she worked as Controller in Germany. Wiebke enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and camping.

  • Caroline Weissenborn

    Head of Elementary School / Homeroom teacher

    Caroline studied elementary and musical education at the University of Erfurt as well as German as second language at the university of Leipzig. She enjoys social dancing, acapella singing and hiking in the nature.

  • Janine Wolf

    Administrative Assistant

    Janine joined us in 2022 and holds a BA in Educational Sciences/ Psychology & a Diploma as a Social Service Worker. She has been working with children and families in different settings in Germany & Canada. Janine loves baking and is passionate about skiing & running.

  • Lara Woronowicz

    French Teacher

    Lara studied French, Spanish and German as a Second language at the University of Munich (LMU), the University of Bordeaux, and the University of Valencia. She teaches French in all grades. Lara enjoys learning new languages, traveling and reading.
