History

Founded as the “Deutsche Schule Toronto” in 2000, the German International School Toronto has grown steadily from one Kindergarten class and one Grade 1 class to its current offering of Kindergarten through Grade 8 and Grade 10 in the German stream.

The school was renamed the German International School Toronto in 2010 to reflect both the current vision and the diversity of the school community. With doors open to any family who values an international learning perspective, and the high standards associated with the German and Canadian curricula, the school is a reflection of the diversity intrinsic to the Canadian culture.

With significant enrolment growth and the natural progression of our student body, plans are being developed to further extend the academic program. This expansion will eventually provide students with the opportunity to earn an internationally recognized diploma, enabling graduates to enter colleges and universities all over the world.
